Cover story for ZEIT Magazine, published on May 7th, 2015: Samuel, 21, from Saxony went to Syria to join the IS. He returned after three months. Is he dangerous?

Story written and researched by Jana Simon. I photographed the objects that Samuel took with him to and from Syria on location at his children's room. "The boy who went to war" was awarded at the Hansel-Mieth-Award in 2016.

Assignment to photograph three motives for the topic "Heimat" (Homeland).

In March 2016, I was assigned to photograph the event location and former electric power plant and techno club E-Werk in Berlin Mitte.

Assignment to photograph all Flagship stores of italian optician Punto Ottico in Brescia, Vicenza, Milano, San Bonifazio, Alte Ceccato, Verona in Italy and in New York, USA. The photos shown are from Brescia and Vicenza.

Assignment to advertise the annual ticket and the State Museums of Berlin in general. 

Ursula Wagner is a Textile Designer and an Assistant Professor in the Textiles Department of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence (RI), USA. I have been documenting her sculptural, three-dimensional fabrics since 2013. The photographed projects are called shaping weaves weaving shapes (2012–2013), Wortarbeit (2015) and Sculptile (2016–2017).

Highly interesting assignment, shooting at Elastomer Technik, a company specialized in high quality silicone products. 

Story about Sebastian Guggolz who won 250.000 Euro at a Quiz Show to save his small publishing house in Berlin from bankruptcy.

In 2009, I was assigned to photograph the PRADA Transformer in Seoul, South Korea, a project collaboration of PRADA and Rem Koolhaas. The Transformer was a temporary structure picked up by cranes and rotated four times to accommodate a variety of cultural events in the centre of Seoul, South Korea. I ended up flying to Seoul four times, every time the Transformer was rotated, two times on assignment for ZEIT Magazine and two times for PRADA. 

My "Upside Down House" photograph from the Korea Diary series made it on the cover of SZ Magazine. The design issue was titled "Umdenken" (rethinking).

Assignment for MÚIN Studio founded by father and daughter to ensure that the craft and skills of one generation are passed onto the next. Davie Smeaton is a cabinet maker and avid collector of unusual tools working in the Wye Valley, England. His daughter Kirstie Smeaton is an architect, working in Berlin, Germany. MÚIN is inspired by the Gaelic word for “teaching”.
